Exceptional Louis XIII mantelpiece with sculpted trumeau in stone

This impressive mantelpiece in stone is a fine example of a classic Louis XIII fireplace !

The lower part of the two cornices is very finely hand-carved with dentils. The trumeau (or hood) shows a beautiful rural setting : sunflowers and other clusters braided fruit. An opulent "sausage-shaped" molding surrounds the entire hearth opening.

This fireplace is carved and sculpted by hand in our stone-cutting atelier located in Isle sur la Sorgue (Provence) in the white limestone of Provence, the stone of Estaillades.
