Mantelpiece with trumeau in stone inspired by the geometrical Louis XVI style

This stone fireplace with trumeau is inspired by the classic Louis XVI mantelpieces.

This original creation of the Atelier Alain Bidal is hand-crafted in our stone-cutting atelier in Provence. It is carved by hand in the stone of Estaillades (a natural limestone quarried in Provence).

The classic Louis XVI style is rather sober : the whole appearance is more geometric and the shapes are rectilinear.
The jambs, the lintel, the trumeau and even the cornice are all rectangular. The lines are pure and fluted patterns (inspired by the Antiquity and characteristics of this style) are beautifully carved on the jambs, on the lintel and on the overmantel. Floral motifs are hand sculpted both on the lintel and on the upper part of the trumeau.

→ This stone fireplace could be supplied without the trumeau. To perfectly suit your interior, space and criteria, we can offer to adapt its dimensions and patinas. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
