Exceptional Louis XIV mantelpiece with trumeau carved in French natural limestone

This exceptional fireplace is a creation inspired by the Louis XIV style (late 17th / early 18th Century).

This mantelpiece with over-mantel (= trumeau or hood) features a pair of molded jambs carved in console. The lintel is decorated in the center with cartridges and hand-sculpted oak leaves and acorns. The trumeau is also adorned with cartridges and hand-sculpted oak leaves and acorns as well as a nice central molded frame. The large stepped overhanging cornice is nicely molded.

Carved in a natural limestone quarried in Provence, the Estaillades stone, this fireplace is crafted by hand in our atelier located in the heart of Provence.
