Beautiful carved limestone fireplace with trumeau (Louis XIV - Louis XV)

This fireplace with hood in natural stone is hand-carved by our artisan stone-cotters in our atelier in Provence.

Carved in the Estaillades stone, a white natural limestone extracted from our quarries located in Provence, this fireplace is an original creation inspired by the classic Louis XIV and Louis XV mantelpieces. The Louis XV style is recognizable by the sculpted shells and foliage.

This mantel features a pair of straight jambs decorated with engravings on which sits a monolithic lintel decorated with several handmade sculptures : an asymmetrical shell in the center, nice patterns with leaves wrapped around the sides and a large molding on its lower part (characteristic feature of the Louis XIV style). The hearth line is carved into molded curves. On the lintel rests a large tablet, ideal to place various decorative items !
The hood (or trumeau) in dressed stone is adorned with a molde frame in relief and with a fine shell sculpted on top. The large overhanging cornice is also finely molded.

→ This fireplace can be sold without the overmantel, and with or without a stone base. It could also be adapted to meet your exact requirements or to be used with a wood burner or an insert.
