Carved limestone fireplace with finely sculpted trumeau, an exceptional Louis XIII mantelpiece

Carved by hand in a natural limestone, this fireplace is an original creation by The Atelier Alain Bidal.

Crafted in our atelier located in the heart of Provence, in Isle sur la Sorgue, by our stonemasons, this fireplace is presented here in the Estaillades stone (a white limestone extracted from our quarries in Provence) in a weathered finish (to give it a more authentic look).

Inspired by the classic Louis XIII mantelpieces, this exceptional stone fireplace with over-mantel demonstrates the know-how of our stonemasons, and in particular by the finesse and high quality sculptures on its lower and upper cornices, as well as the beautifully molded central frame on the trumeau.
The trumeau and lintel, both very finely hand-carved and sculpted, reveal a large tablet, ideal to place some decorative items.
