Limestone fireplace with trumeau inspired by the geometrical style of Louis 16

This fireplace with trumeau is a re-edition inspired by the style of the French Kind Louis XVI.
This original creation of Les Ateliers Bidal is handcrafted in our stone workshops situated between the town of Cavaillon and Carpentras (South of France). It is made the traditional way and carved in the stone of Lens (a natural calcareous stone quarried in the Nîmes region).

The Louis 16 style is quite sober : the whole appearance is more geometric and the shapes are rectilinear.
The jambs, the lintel, the trumeau and even the cornice are all rectangular. The lines are pure and fluted patterns (inspired by the Antiquity and characteristics of this Louis 16 style) are beautifully carved on the jambs, lintel and on the pier. Floral motifs are hand sculpted both on the lintel and on the upper part of the trumeau.

→ This stone fireplace can be sold with or without its stone base. It can also be purchased with its trumeau. To perfectly suit your interior, space and criteria, we can adapt its dimensions and patinas.
