Large Louis XV classic mantelpiece in carved limestone

Faithful reproduction of a classic French Louis XV fireplace, this beautiful mantelpiece carved in a French limestone is hand-crafted in our stone cutting atelier in Provence.

Carved in the stone of Estaillades (a natural white limestone quarried in Provence), this elegant mantel features a pair of turning jambs on which sits a large monolithic lintel. The thin tablet is nicely molded and emphasizes the movement of the lintel.  Fine engravings decorate the jambs and the lintel. An opulent sausage-shaped mold runs around the whole hearth opening.
