Large wall fountain in natural stone with a sculpted head of Medusa

This charming fountain is a beautiful hand-crafted water feature hand-carved in Provence, in our stone cutting atelier in Isle sur la Sorgue, in a natural French-extracted limestone.

What makes this fountain unique, beside its large size and its semi-octagonal molded basin, is its exceptional hand-sculpted pediment !

The later is very finely worked-out and features various kinds of hand-carved decorations : Gothic-style supporting columns, imposing molded cornice ended by a diamond-shaped decoration, and more specifically, in its center, a beautiful stone sculpture of Medusa's as water outlet.

Medusa (also known as Gorgo) is one of the three Gorgons in the Greek mythology. Her hair is intertwined with living venomous snakes. She has the power to petrify anyone who looks directly at her.
