Large limestone wall fountain with a sculpted Bacchus' head

Large wall fountain carved in natural French liemstone (Estaillades stone or Avy stone).

This garden fountain is composed of, firstly, a large semi-octagonal stone basin. Nicely moulded, it is topped by wide copings. Secondly, a broad pediment beautifully worked out : 2 side arabesques, a central moulded embossed breastplate, as water outlet, a sculpted representation of the Roman God Bacchus (God of the vine, wine and celebration). A flat, thin and moulded cornice overlooks the pediment.
