Louis XV mantelpiece carved in a nicely patinated natural limestone

This elegant fireplace draws heavily from the classic Louis XV style.

Hand-crafted in our stone-cutting atelier in Provence, this mantelpiece is carved in a natural limestone extracted from our quarries in Provence, the stone of Estaillades. It presented here in an aged and patinated version.

This stone mantel features a pair of straight jambs that are nicely adorned with fine engravings. The arched monolithic lintel is hand-sculpted, in addition to different carvings visible along its entire length, with a superb asymmetrical shell called "rocaille" in the center. The shell is the pattern that best represents the Regency and Louis XV styles. The hearth line offers some beautiful curves and cons-curves. The tablet is fine and molded.
