Magnificent fireplace with trumeau at 2 levels - Louis XIII style
Superb fireplace with trumeau in stone. This re-issued fireplace is an original creation by Les Ateliers Bidal, handmade in our workshops in the South of France, and carved in the stone of Estaillades, a limestone extracted in our quarries in Provence.
Inspired by the Louis 13th castle fireplaces, this magnificent piece is a beautiful representation of the know-how and skills of our master stonemasons.
We will note the presence of 2 tablets finely moulded. The intermediate part between these two tablets is monolithic and beautifully carved with a rectangular frame engraved in its center and, on each side, a pattern sculpted in the shape of a snail.
The upper part of the hood is also very elaborate : a moulded embossed framework in the center, concave angles on the side and a slight widening at the base of the hood.
The shape of the angles inside the hearth draw a convex portion. An opulent mould frames the hearth opening on its three sides (below the lintel and on the inside of both jambs). This moulding shows the same convex drawing curves.
Finally, the drip ledge overlooking the whole fireplace is very finely worked with its lower part beautifully serrated.
A very stylish fireplace that will bring this authentic side to your interior. It can be adapted for a use as a closed or open fire.
